The team of Fuchs & Vogel had the chance to create the opener for the Drone Champions League – a brandnew show about competitive drone racing. So for this format we wanted to create a high-speed chase scenario, while giving small hints about the featured locations.
The first three weeks I was busy with creating the animatic and a stand-in landscape, which formed the racing track. After that I developed a method to create an abstract, cool-looking landscape that could be used by the other team members (see above). Then I continued developing the look of the movie, creating track elements and shaders.
And here is a still of the final movie, where the team decided for a different shade of blue and added a cloudy nightsky to set the mood.
